In the s-PAW-tlight: Holiday Cheer and Spirit at Paradise.
Each year the staff at Paradise collects donations for a local organization. In previous years, we have donated to the Maltby Food Bank and Homeward Pet Adoption Center. This year we have chosen Ginger’s Pet Rescue, a local non-profit pet organization that specializes in saving “death row” dogs from other facilities. Ginger’s has saved 2,108 dogs to date.
Ginger’s Pet Rescue relies solely on help from volunteers, foster families, private donations and fundraisers. They provide much-needed medical attention, food and housing for these special dogs. Many are rescued just hours or minutes away from being euthanized. This past year, Paradise has offered temporary housing for several of these rescued dogs when their foster families can no longer care for them.
This holiday season we are asking our customers to help in our efforts to support Ginger’s Pet Rescue. We will be collecting donation items and monetary donations throughout the month of December. Ginger’s is mostly in need of towels, bedding, leashes, crates, potty pads, toys, food, and money for medical care. New and gently-used items are acceptable for donation. Pets of Paradise Photo Shoot
Julie Austin of Julie Austin Photography will make her last trip to Paradise for the year! This is the perfect opportunity to have photos taken of your pet enjoying the holidays at Paradise!
Saturday, December 12th, Julie Austin will pack up her camera and lenses and come back to Paradise. Your pet will get their own one-on-one photo session with Julie, and you will get a priceless picture of your pet enjoying their time with us! Pick your setting, pick your pose, and pick your picture! The session includes (1) 5x7 and (1) 8x10 picture of your choice and access to the Lily-Rose website and online gallery of your pet. Who doesn’t like toys for Christmas? We at Paradise like the indestructible ones. Some of our favorites are: The Tuff Tugger, a rectangle made of nylon and rope that allows your dog to engage you in a tug-o-war battle! The TireBiter, a smaller version of a monster truck tire is perfect for off-road and backyard play. The original Kong that can be filled with your dog’s favorite treat, or a lick of peanut butter making it twice as fun! A few of our staff members’ pets have their favorites too. Slugger is a fan of anything squirrel and Rowdy never gets tired of her Chuck-it and Frisbee. Client Feature: Amazing Rosie
| Rosie is a 14 year old yellow lab who loves spending her days playing with friends, swimming at Paradise, lounging on her deck, and begging for table scraps. Rosie has been coming to Paradise for swim sessions for 8 months, and has enjoyed her time with all 3 of our spa gals, Bri, Erin and Lynnie. |

Bri smiles as she says, “She is so invigorated after her swim. It brings me joy to see her before and after, knowing how much she has benefited from hydrotherapy. It’s like she has a little extra spring in her giddy-up!” Lynnie laughs along, telling me, “Rosie is a celebrity! She has her own blog and website, I feel famous by association just getting to be in the pool to swim with her!” Erin’s healing touch is featured in the picture.
Rosie’s owner, Chris, is a photographer, and has done some amazing work. He captures Rosie and her friends living their everyday life. Every Friday, which Chris calls Canine Friday, a link to Rosie’s blog is sent out to all of her friends and family. All of us at Paradise look forward to reading Rosie’s weekly blog. Staff Spotlight: Heather
| Heather has been a part of the Paradise Pet Lodge family since 1999. A transplant from sunny Sedona, Arizona and Silverton, Colorado she has been passionate about animals since she was a young girl. Heather is extremely dedicated to the health and well-being of every boarder, feline and canine alike. Understanding all those endearing quirks which make each pet unique is one of the many things she loves about working at Paradise Pet Lodge. She recently sold her Internet Café in the mountains of Colorado and is happy to come back home to Redmond with Enzo the wonder dog and Michael her partner of 16 years.

In appreciation of our valued clients we will now be offering a salon “punch card” reward system. After five full salon services, your pet will receive a complimentary Deluxe Spa upgrade on their next salon appointment. Deluxe Spa includes Spa shampoo of your choice, Fresh Facial Scrub, Nourish Vitamin Conditioner, and an aromatherapy treatment!
In addition, grooming rewards can be received by pre-booking your pet for a salon bath or grooming when you book them for boarding! By pre-booking your pet’s next appointment, they will receive a free Spa Facial and Paw Treatment!
Your Rewards card will be hole punched and initialed by your pet’s stylist, and must be presented on the sixth visit to receive Deluxe Spa upgrade. Salon Rewards are also available for pre-booking appointments!
